Who are we?
Cardamon Road was set up by Jessica Stewart, a former museum curator from the UK, who now is based in New Zealand.
After spending extended periods of time traveling abroad with her husband and young family, Jessica met many small-scale producers and entrepreneurs who were making wonderful textiles, but struggling to bring them to wider markets. With the knowledge that supporting these small business people, organisations and artists would bring positive change to many lives, including our own, Cardamon Road was conceived and the first textiles were bought in 2016.
Why Cardamon Road?
The name was simply inspired by a long bus journey through the beautiful Cardamon Mountains in south west Cambodia.
Who do we work with?
We strongly believe that no-one should suffer in the production of anything that we sell. We want you to be sure that everything you buy will be contributing to positive change somewhere in the world. This means that we are very particular about where we buy the textiles that we offer to you. It could be that we bring you the work of a single entrepreneur supporting their family, or that we chose to work with organisations that are developing skills with vulnerable groups.
